IRONMAN Returning To Lake Tahoe – September 20, 2015
For the disappointed athletes who were ready and willing to compete in the IRONMAN Lake Tahoe 2014 Race last year get another chance! Their feet were wet in the waters of Lake Tahoe prepared for the challenge ahead of them only to be called off minutes (or seconds – depending on who you ask) before the start. The race was canceled over health concerns due to smoke being in the basin from surrounding wild fires. Hopefully we have better conditions this year!
The IRONMAN competition is scheduled to start on the shores of Lake Tahoe in Kings Beach where the athletes will swim 2.4 miles. After the swim they will hop on bikes for two+ extreme loops starting in Kings Beach heading towards Tahoe City along the Truckee River past Squaw Valley into the town of Truckee up 267 and back down to Kings Beach. The bike portion will finish at Squaw Valley were the athletes will then prepare for a run along the Truckee River bike path and the back to Squaw Valley for the FINISH LINE!
Good Luck To The IRONMAN Lake Tahoe 2015 Athletes!
